Tips for Last Minute Christmas Shopping!

December 17, 2018

Christmas is less than 10 days away!!! But, don’t get your tinsel in a tangle guys! It’s not too late to finish up your Christmas shopping for the ones you love.

The best thing to do before you take on your last minute shopping spree is to make a list. You don’t want to go at this blind! Make a list with the names of the people you have to shop for, the amount you want to spend on each of their gifts, and put any gift ideas you may have next to each person’s name. This will help to keep you from wandering aimlessly around the store, and it’s also a great tool to help you stay within your budget. Oh, and try not to get distracted by everything you see that just happens to be cute (like I obviously tend to do). Shop with a purpose! No impulse buys! Remember, you’re on a mission!

Gift cards are always a good idea. They’re my go-to gift and I think they’re great, especially if the person you are shopping for is a coffee lover or a foodie. As long as you know your person’s favorite store, restaurant, or coffee shop, you’re golden! Some people think that gift cards are a cop-out. I disagree. I think that gift cards are a convenient idea for both the gifter, as well as the giftee. It’s definitely a quick purchase for the person buying, and it ensures that the person receiving gets exactly what they want without having to deal with gift receipts, returns, or exchanges if they don’t like the gift they received. And if the person you’re shopping for is anything like the people on my list, they’ll appreciate a gift card to their favorite place just as much as any other gift, if not more. Just in case you’re wondering, I’ll gladly accept a Starbucks gift card as a present any day of the week!

This year, it seems that a lot of stores have already discounted some of their gifts and Christmas inventory, which is not something you normally see before Christmas. But hey, who doesn’t love a deal?! So of course I recommend taking advantage of every sale you can. But don’t let that cheapen the experience for the person you’re buying for. Make sure the gift is still relevant to the receiver, and is something that they will appreciate and enjoy.

Well, those are my tips for my fellow last minute Christmas shoppers. I hope this helps you on your mission to find the perfect gifts for your loved ones. Happy shopping and Merry Christmas!!! Good luck!
