Let’s face it, life gets rough sometimes. We all have those days when it seems like nothing’s going your way. Those days when it feels like no matter how hard you try, everything is just too much to handle. “Maybe I was wrong about everything. Maybe I misinterpreted God’s plan for my life. But if that’s the case, why do I still have a burning desire to do what it is He told me to do?” Well, it’s because He put it in your heart.
Doubt, worry, fear, anxiety, these are all worldly emotions. Emotions that make you unsure of yourself. Emotions that, unfortunately, come naturally. They are natural human emotions. But what we have to remember if we don’t want these emotions to be our undoing, is where to find strength. God gives strength to the weary and increases the power of the weak (Isaiah 40:29).
When we run into life’s obstacles, and start to get overwhelmed with worldly emotions, many people search for someone to talk to. Someone in which you can confide. Someone to give us advice, or to simply listen to us as we vent and rant. If you have friends that can be that person for you, great! But, I can guarantee you that there’s no one you can trust with your feelings more than God. This is exactly what he wants us to do! Hebrews 4:16 says, “Let us then approach God’s throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need.”
As cliche as it sounds, we all have the ultimate best friend in God! We vent and rant to our friends because we’re looking for a release. No one can give you the release that God can. Not only can you speak with him to get things off your chest, but at the end of the conversation, you get to leave it all there with him. He’s the one friend that you can trust to not only listen to the problems you face in the world, but take them off your hands so you don’t have to worry with them anymore. Anything that you can’t handle, God can. So why not let him?
Jesus said that he was not alone because God was with him (John 16:32). We don’t have to be alone in this world either. Talk to God. Run to Him when you need someone to confide in. That’s what He wants. Put all of your faith and trust in Him, and He’ll give you what you need to overcome anything!
