7 Fall Fashion Must Haves

It’s official, the temperature in Birmingham has officially dropped and I feel ambushed! This cold front came out of nowhere! But at least it finally feels like fall, right? Well since it’s here, I’m ready to face it with some of my favorite cold weather pieces. Here are my top seven staple items to slay with this fall and winter!

Sweaters

Sweaters are basically the foundation of my fall wardrobe. Whether it’s a basic sweater great for layering, a cardigan for days that aren’t too cold, or a chunky oversized turtleneck, you can’t go wrong with sweaters. They go great with jeans or leggings, and flats or heels. They should really be a cold weather staple piece for everyone.

Sweater Dresses

I have a new found love for sweater dresses. They’re both stylish and comfy, and so easy to dress up or down. Sweater dresses are becoming my go-to office look! Pair one with tights and pumps, or even boots, and you’ve got the perfect day to night look for happy hour after work!

Booties

So, I. Love. Boots. Knee boots, over the knee boots, combat boots, I love them all! Lately, I’ve been obsessed with booties. They go with everything! And, they come in so many different styles! Fancy up your sweater dress with a pair of heeled booties, or keep it casual and cute with flat ones and a pair of jeans with a sweater. There’s no doubt that you can find the perfect bootie for any outfit.

Dress Coats

To keep warm when the temperature plummets, you’ve got to have a nice cozy coat in your closet. I am smitten with the chic, classy look that dress coats offer. They make it so easy to dress up even the most basic outfit. There have been several days that I’ve thrown on a basic turtleneck, a pair of fitted jeans or leggings, boots, a dress coat, and hit the door! With an outfit like that, you’re ready for practically any occasion.

Hats, Scarves, & Gloves

Believe it or not, these accessories have the power to instantly upgrade your outfit. I just added a couple of wool wide brim fedoras to my collection and I couldn’t be happier about it! I wore one last weekend with a basic black tee and a grey cardigan, and it added the perfect amount of flare and fashion! And what’s more posh than a pair of fur lined leather gloves?! Faux fur of course, shout out to PETA. Oh, and of course you can never go wrong with the perfect beanie and thick infinity scarf to keep you warm.
