Well, my first week with braces was quite the roller coaster ride! The installation process was a breeze and basically painless. But the days to come had something different in store for me!
It started with an annoying itch in my gums. Then, it graduated to a burning soreness inside my lips and cheeks that intensified each time I brushed my teeth or rinsed my mouth with anything other than water. The insides of my cheeks were being sliced and diced by my brand new brackets!
I finally broke down and decided to use the wax that my orthodontist put in my goodie bag. Best decision I could have made. I rolled up a big piece of it into a ball, placed it on these treacherous brackets, and went to sleep. I woke the next morning to a bit of relief. FINALLY!
